This guide shows every part of the app in the same order you will use it. You do not need computer experience. Follow one numbered step at a time.
The basics
You only need a web browser and a mouse or touchpad. The app saves your choices while you work.
Move the arrow onto a button, then press the left mouse button once.
Click inside a white box, then type with your keyboard.
Click a box with a small arrow, then click the choice you want.
Click and move the round handle left or right to change a size.
If you are unsure, keep the ready-made choices. They are a good starting point.
Do not close the browser while a download says it is being prepared. You may leave the page after it says your progress is saved.
Always at the top
These controls help you name your book, open saved books, see a preview, or start again.
Click the name and type a name you will remember. The small “Saved” message means your change is safe.
Removes your books, finished puzzles, colors, fonts, and download choices, then gives you a fresh book. The quick tour will not appear again.
Shows four short help cards inside the app. Use Back, Next, Skip Tour, or the × button.
Opens your saved book list. You can create, open, move, or delete a book.
Opens the live example of the puzzle style you are making.
Opens the information page for Sudoku Generator.
App step 1
A “puzzle group” is a group of puzzles that share the same size, difficulty, and layout.
Click “My Puzzles” and type a helpful name, such as “Easy 9x9”.
Type the number you want. Use a small number for your first test, such as 10.
Choose 4×4, 6×6, 9×9, 12×12, 16×16, or 25×25. Bigger sizes have more squares and can take longer to create.
Choose how easy or hard the puzzles should be. The app only shows choices available for the selected size.
Standard removes numbers freely. Balanced pattern makes removed spaces match when the puzzle is turned halfway around.
This button appears after you change a group. Click it. When it says “Saved”, the group is ready.
| Size | Difficulty choices | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 4×4 | Very Easy to Hard | Young beginners and quick puzzles |
| 6×6 | Very Easy to Extreme | Beginners who want more challenge |
| 9×9 | Very Easy to Impossible | Standard Sudoku books |
| 12×12, 16×16, 25×25 | Very Easy to Impossible | Large and advanced puzzle books |
The small numbers at the bottom of the left menu show how many puzzle groups are in this book and the total number of puzzles you asked the app to create.
The first group in the list is shown in the preview first. Drag the grip to put groups in the order you want.
Create the real puzzles
After all groups say “Saved”, the app can create the real puzzles and their answers.
Each puzzle is checked carefully so it has one clear answer.
A progress bar shows how many puzzles are finished.
Every puzzle is checked so it has one answer. Large books need more time.
The app begins preparing your full download in the background. “Go to Download” becomes ready when the files are ready.
If you change a group after creating puzzles, create the puzzles again so the finished files match your newest choices.
App step 2
This section changes how puzzle and answer pictures look. The preview changes at once.
Open Puzzle Preview before changing colors. You will see every change immediately.
Inside Colors & Style
Click Browse Fonts to open the Font Library. Each card shows the font using its own style.
Search by name or choose a style.
A custom font must end in .ttf or .otf. Renaming another file does not turn it into a font.
App step 3
Choose what appears inside every puzzle square. This changes only the way values look.
For a 9×9 puzzle, you need 9 different custom symbols. For a 16×16 puzzle, you need 16.
Check before you create
The preview is an instant example. It shows what your files will look like, but it is not one of your finished puzzles.
Previewing Puzzle Set My Puzzles
App step 4
Choose what goes into your download and how each picture should be named.
Puzzles only gives puzzle pictures. Answers only gives completed answer pictures. Puzzles + Answers gives both.
Standard is 1000×1000, High is 2000×2000, and Extra high is 3000×3000. “Choose my own size” accepts a square size from 512 to 4096.
Use my chosen background keeps your Step 2 design. Transparent background removes the background color.
Give puzzles, answers, and the downloaded ZIP folder their own names. The example line shows exactly how they will look.
Choose the first number. Use 1 for 001, 002, 003… Use 51 if this book should continue after another set ending at 050.
For most books, keep “Puzzles + Answers” and “Standard · 1000 × 1000”. Download the first puzzle before downloading everything.
Do not press Download Everything many times. Press it once and wait for your browser to show the saved ZIP file.
Keep work separate
Click the folder icon at the top to create a new book or return to an older one.
Follow this exact example

Simple fixes
Open the question that matches what you see.
Add at least one puzzle group. Make sure the number is 1 or more, choose a size and difficulty, then click Save Choice.
You changed something in the group. Click Save Choice. It will change to “Saved”.
Large sizes, hard difficulties, and many puzzles need more time. Keep the page open. If it pauses, click Continue. For a quick test, start with 10 easy 9×9 puzzles.
Find that puzzle group and click its eye button. The group name shown above the preview should change.
Click the eye icon in the top bar. On a small screen, the preview opens over the app. Use × to close it.
Your browser may block full screen. Click Larger View, then use + or Fit to Screen. You can still inspect the complete puzzle.
Use one different symbol for every value. Separate them with commas. A 9×9 puzzle needs 9 symbols.
Choose a real TTF or OTF font file no larger than 1.5 MB. Make sure the file is not damaged and you have permission to use it.
Create the puzzles first. Wait for “Your puzzles are ready!” and for the download preparation to finish.
Width and height must be the same number, from 512 to 4096. For example, use 1500 and 1500.
Wait a moment and check your browser’s Downloads list. Allow downloads from this website if your browser asks. Do not click the button many times.
Open the app again and open the same book. Your saved progress can continue from the Download section.
Deletion messages give you a chance to cancel. After you confirm a book deletion or use Start Over, the removed work cannot be opened from the app.
Wait a few seconds, then refresh the page once. Your saved work should return. If it does not, email hi@kdpika.com and describe the message you see.
